The 1950's Entertainment

Elvis was very popular in the 1950's. Teens loved his song 'aint nothing but a Hound Dog'.  Teens in the 50's wanted to be "cool”, but also "different" and that’s why so many teens love and admired Elvis. Rock and Roll was big at this time and most parents thought it wasn't family appropriate. 1950’s were a time of happiness, individuality, and fun.

Today, almost every single person has a television in their house maybe even two, three, or four, but back in the 50's if you had a television then you were the coolest kid on the block. The TV only had a couple of TV shows compared to our hundreds maybe even thousands of shows, but they still enjoyed it very much. The most popular show for teens was ' The American Bandstand. Other TV shows included ' I Love Lucy', ‘Superman’, and ' The Mickey Mouse Club'.

People in The 50 have loved sports. Baseball and Football were big.  Blacks and Whites were also on the same team, because before they were on separate teams, and that it how Jackie Robinson rose to be a star. Not only were races brought together through sports, but women also rose and got to play in the professional leagues.

POW #4 Restaurant Review

Blue koi

On valentines day i went to a place called 'Blue Koi' with my boyfriend Zac, so i decided to do a review over it.

Blue Koi noodles and dumplings is a nice place with unique decor with more of a fancy vibe. When you walk in, the kitchen is open and the place was pretty filled up. The noise level wasn't too bad, unless you sat right next to the kitchen where pots are being banged and what not. You get sat down at a table really quick, again it was valentines day so you would expect a long wait.

Our waitress was very nice and easy going, she always had a smile on her face even though we were teenagers, she treated us like any other customer. She helped us out with the menu since it was kind of confusing and made really good suggestions.

Even though you don't like Asian food, they have a pretty good selection of things to eat. The food they have is pretty common like dumplings, chicken, noodles, and soup.

When our food came out it was hot and fresh, and it didn't take long at all to receive our dinner. probably like 15 minutes at the most. The quality of the food was really good, and the choice we picked was definitely spicy, you could taste all the flavors and they pop out at you.

They also have a bar there with many drinks so it attracts the people over 21.

The only thing i didn't like was that it was a little too "fancy" for just going out to eat at a regular dinner. I would consider that place to be more of an occasion restaurant.

POW Movie Review Easy A

Easy A is about a girl who fake loses her virginity, just so she can fit in. When guys hear about what happened, they want to also "fake lose" their virginity to Olive so they could look like "the man". She soon realizes that she ruined her reputation. The movie is like the book 'The scarlet letter', where a women conducts an "adulterous" crime and is forced to wear a scarlet letter (A) for humiliation.

Most teen comedies are lame and not a bit funny, but easy A is the best high school comedy since 'Mean Girls'. Emma Stone ( who plays olive) is nothing but hilarious, and fits the role perfectly. Amanda Bynes, who is also in the film, plays Marianne, and over religious snob who thinks Olive is nothing but a "whore".

I would rate Easy A an 8 out of 10 because not only teenagers can enjoy this movie, but i think it has adult humour too so parents can enjoy this as well, and have the understanding of what teenage high school life is currently now.

pow#3 Snapshot

this crazy man right here is my hero, my dad.
It feels good to know that I can go to my father about anything. I have messed up so much in my teen years, but he's always been there no matter what , and has had my back 24/7. I am really thankful and blessed to have such a great role model in my life. I know one day i'll be an amazing parent because of him.

POW #2 Satire

I think this is funny because people are always complaining about our government, when we actually need the government to keep things under control.

my name is..

Kristina Cole. My parents named me Kristina because they not only liked the name, but also wanted to change it up with a K, because the common spelling is Christina. Kristina also went good along with my lastname cole, which flows.

The orgin of my name is from Germany, and it means 'the follower of christ' . It makes sense because my dad is German, and he is religous as well as my mom is. Kristina also means 'chris bearer' in Greek.

There nothing really wrong with my name in my opinon, i like it. i never had problems about it, and i never got teased for being named Kristina.
